Why is WestBlock Systems starting a newsletter now? Changes happen quickly these days, and trying to get updated information to everyone who needs it becomes quite a task. That’s why newsletters have taken on an increasingly important role in our lives. Newsletters keep us informed about our family and our activities—what’s going on at our child’s school, with sports teams and other extracurricular activities, as well as with our religious and civic organizations.
Since getting current information for our business is just as important as for our personal life, we are offering WBS News to keep you up to date. Each easy-to-read issue will tell you what you need to know quickly. We will be very open to your feedback to make sure we provide the articles, information, and resources you need to help you become a better informed business professional so you can sell, design, and con-struct better retaining walls.
Every issue of WBS News will have articles about products, links to Websites for additional information, and news especially for the architects and engineers who play key roles on the overall design team for segmental retaining walls and privacy and fence walls. WBS News will also have information on general earth retention as well as updates and news for contractors and professional wall installers. |
|
In addition, WBS News will include highlights of projects built by our installers. This will give everyone a chance to see what is happening in other parts of the United States. Occasionally we will feature projects from our overseas customers.
A newsletter would not be complete if it did not give you ideas on how to make your company better, from marketing to operations. So each issue of WBS News will give you information on the latest in technology as it applies to our industry.
Please take a few minutes to read and enjoy this first issue of WBS News. Then please take a few more minutes to E-mail us at Info@westblocksystems.com and give us your two cents’ worth of what you think about it. What is helpful? What is not?
What would you would like to see in future issues? Send us an email. |
In 2005 WestBlock Systems began developing professionally written case studies that focus on project sites that highlight GravityStone’s unique capabilities. During this process we were contacted by advertisers to promote our products in their publications. Since January 2006, WestBlock Systems has seen five of our eight case studies published in industry periodicals which include Landscape Architect, Landscape Designer, Civil Engineering, Erosion Control and Concrete Magazine. In November 2006 our beautiful walls will be featured as part of a Better Homes and Garden article that focuses on a new home built upon Fox Island in Puget Sound Washington.
WestBlock Systems product promotional efforts have typically taken a low profile, rarely being seen or mentioned in magazines and trade publications, but that has been changing. Now, not only are our products being recognized, but so are our staff, |

manufacturers and contractors. The April 2006 issue of Civil Engineer quotes Scott West several times on matters of development of new ideas, where the market is heading, and how to take advantage of it. The February 2006 issue of Landscape Architect quotes Tyler Gillis from Sound Retaining Walls several times regarding the ease of construction and the ability of GravityStone to fit into tight sites. Erosion Control Jan/Feb 2006 (cover on page 1) interviewed Jim Hammer and Ken Headley on the Tres Amigos Medical Center project for the article on “Scaling Erosion’s Challenges” and how GravityStone adapted to poor site soils conditions.
WestBlock Systems is applying more effort and resources to increase awareness of our products and company, and it appears that other magazines are taking note. We have two more articles set for publication before year end, and we are committed to continuing our drive into 2007 with information on different projects and more of our product line. |
